Booth Information
Location, location, location…optimal exposure at minimal cost. Where can you get it? How about this year’s Kiwanis Club CornFest in Fort Mojave. With an estimated 45,000 people expected to attend, and the two day rental of a 12×12 booth costing only $75, vendors profits are practically guaranteed.
“We had a waiting list of people who wanted space last year,” said Kiwanis club member Mary Ann Koontz. “This year we’ve increased the amount of vendors from 40 to 45 but we still expect space to move fast.”
Koontz said that the club is seeking a variety of products and homecrafters who wish to market their wares at the event. Past productions have included woodcarvers, potters, crocheted craft items and doll makers. The upcoming CornFest has already booked a tattoo artist (temporary tattoos), an incense seller, t-shirt vendors, and a novelty hawker. The club restricts the sale of religious and political items, and alcoholic beverage sales are forbidden in the vendor area.
Koontz encouraged the more unique art forms of crafting to apply for a site. “We’d like to attract things that people don’t do much anymore,” said Koontz.
Booth renters must provide their own sun-shade and are responsible for the assemblage and dismantling of their individual store fronts. While Koontz said that there are currently an abundance of booths available, spaces are being filled daily and applicants should act immediately if they wish to be booked. Applications can be downloaded from the club’s website at www.cornzilla.com or by contacting Koontz at either 758-1867 or 763-6278. As an added bonus, vendor products will be advertised on the cornzilla.com web site.
“We wish to have a nice variety of things for people to purchase.”
Koontz said that vendors have achieved a high level of success at past CornFest activities. “Year after year, they keep coming back,” she said. “There’s a reason for that.”
